NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Grade 1/2 This was a carnaval kind of day! Students explored the different types of celebrations at this time of the year, such as Rio, Nouvelle Orléans, la ville de Québec. The class made colourful masks to take home.

Grade 7 Students read post cards from unusual winter locations around the world. A short discussion about the direction of their summative task took place, and a few good points were made on how to achieve eco-tourism. They also completed an activity sheet about expressions of quantity.
Grade 8-Students took up the comprehension segment for the Titanic story.

Grade 5/6 Presentations were done today along with the reflection segment. Good job everyone!

Grade 3/4 This afternoon, students started with brainstorming on French names and their relationship with the type of work they performed. They also looked at a map to look at where the pioneers might have lived.

JK/SK 100 days of class! Wow! Because they were wearing their crowns, we talked about the colours for carnaval. Hollie was quite knowledgeable about this topic, being just back from La Nouvelle Orléans. They also sang about Bonhomme and his instruments.
