NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Today,we had several students taking the Caribou Math Test and others had to take an early lunch to go to a Track Meet. Best of luck everyone!

Grade 5/6 worked and played today. Actually, they played to learn their ER verbs. The name of the game is Connect 4 and teams have to fill a sequence of 4 spots on the grid. As long as the spots are adjacent to one another and they conjugate and use the verb in a sentence, they earn their points.

Grade 3/4 students took turns and used the 4 most commonly used verbs and made sentences of their own choice. The verbs were Avoir, être, faire, aller. (to have, to be, to do or to make, to go).

JK/SK students are working on the farm animals. Today, they earned house points when they could name some of the puppets names.

Grade 7/8 This morning we took up yesterday's homework and everyone did really well. Afterwards, they worked on a cross-word using the vocabulary from the unit. This is a very challenging activity where the students learned a few strategies by looking at the clues offered in the questions. ALWAYS read the question carefully because there lies the answer! So, they looked for gender and number agreements, conjugated verbs...at what tense...Oh yes, they were working
