NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Aujourd'hui, nous avons fait...

Grade 5/6 students read a text on the joy and pitfalls of using Mr Google and the likes for instant translation. They are to complete the questions related to the text. The vocabulary was taken up in class. They were working so hard that they did not want to leave when the next group showed up at the door.

Grade 3/4  started their companion animal unit. We are working on short text to introduce a familiar pet. They will have a hand puppet (marionette) to make, something they are looking forward to! This unit introduces, for some, and re-inforces for others, the concept of gender in nouns and adjectives.

Grade 7/8 read 'Le cas de la planche à roulettes'. Connor earned 200 points for correctly retelling the story. The students went over the text to find where the passé composé verb tense was used. Great work, today!

JK/SK went through the routine with flying colours! We also started to sing ALOUETTE and identified different body parts. They also were quite sure that we did not sport 'des plumes' but we had 'des cheveux'. Great!

Grade 1/2 students took up the vocabulary for the family. They were invited to share activities they had with a family member. Most of them wrote two sentences and tomorrow they will illustrate their phrases.
