NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Qui a passé une belle fin de semain?
Plus que tu en sais, plus tu sais que tu ne sais pas. This is a fairly loose translation (ask a grade 5/6) but we took a few minutes to discuss the words mastery (maîtrise) and apprentice (apprenti) to study what we don't know, because, now you know what you do not know.

Grade 5/6 have a short test tomorrow, Tuesday. The subject is ER ending verbs. They have been practicing for a week and they have graphed their progress.

Grade 3/4 demonstrated that they know and memorized their presentation. For the most part, they are ready to present tomorrow and show off their paper bag puppets. This will be fun!

Grade 7/8 reviewed the passé composé and adjectifs possessifs. They started the work individually, then corrected each other's work and took turn to mentor each other. It is always wonderful to see them working so well together.

JK/SK the students were read a book on the salmon run. We looked at a colourful picture of the salmon's life cycle. They were quick to point out that some of them were 'arc-en-ciel'. Yes, that is the word for rainbow!

Grade 1/2  The grade one group worked on completing colour and matching objects activity while the grade 2 group re-wrote a short dialogue in the correct order. During this time, the grade one group were listening to the instructions while doing their work. Well done!
