News from the French Corner.

Here we go, my first attempt at blogging. I trust that students and parents reading this blog will come forward and offer their comments and suggestions.
Although the weather is still hanging onto Winter, Spring really is in the air here at The Maples.

The JK/SK class have been working on a maple syrup theme. We are singing and learning vocabulary related to making this truly Canadian liquid gold.
The children will be bringing home coloring on this subject as well as colorful fish in celebration of April 1st.

Today, the grade 1 & 2 were combined for French class. We created a bingo game with pictures of the necessary tools for syrup making. Then, we read a story and identified the vocabulary on the bingo card.  Everyone had a lot of fun.

The Grade 3 & 4 missed French today due to the assembly.

The grade 5 are working on the unit: Les extraterrestres. The star of the unit is the verb "Aller".

The grade 6 have completed their rough draft for a restaurant menus.  Today was dedicated to create a dialogue for a restaurant server and patron. The students will memorize the lines and will have to use them in a conversation as part of their final project. (After Easter)

The grade 7 & 8 did an improvisation,  one minute each, on a fishing expedition. They received an image on Monday, which they added on to create a unique fishing situation. It was truly "le poisson d'avril".
