NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

This short week, prior to the Easter break, the students are being challenged to complete some of their 'tâche finale' (projects) and for others, inquire into new ones such as 'l'eau, autour de nous'.

JK & SK have initiated their egg hunt with the prepositions 'sur' and 'dans'. As they are asked to place a egg in different locations in the classroom, they have to indicate vrai ou faux statements. Lots of fun and moving around.

Grade 1 are also working on prepositions (where things are). Today, they had a 'who is besides me' game.

Grade 2 are demonstrating their knowledge of water around us and its impact on our daily life. So today, we established a word list and categorized water (l'eau) as soft water and salt water. They are revisiting water cycles and expanding their inquiries to conservation. This will be ongoing this week and the next.

Grade 3 & 4 students have made an valiant effort with memorizing their lines.
The students are starting to brainstorm about the meaning of the play and how best convey their roles to their audience.

Grade 5 were our audience for the grade 6 restaurant presentations. Wednesday will be their turn to present dream school to an earthling (moi).

Tomorrow, the grade 6 will start a real estate agent (un agent d'immeuble) unit. Yes! They will be inquiring about houses for sale in Quebec and then try and sell it to their peers.

Grade 7 & 8 will reflect on how we use our 5 senses and are in the process of writing a letter to a friend describing their invention.
