NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER.

This was a short week packed with fun and knowledge.

Grade 5/6 have started using the vocabulary related to restaurants and they are learning dialogues for servers and clients. The students are learning how to order from a menu by using the verbs: commander, prendre, choisir, attendre and finir. Great job everyone.

Grade 3/4 were surprised to learn that a person's last name often originated from the trade they were involved. So, today was called: vendredi en folie! They had to find a fitting name and illustrate the character. Lots of laugh.

Grade 7/8 took up their homework on the pronoun 'en'. They did a few excercises involving pronunciation with rythm. Oh yes, I am certain they could be heard in the neighbouring classes.

Grade 1/2 are continuing their winter carnival unit. This week, they listened to a made up story containing several words related to previous lessons. Afterwards, they illustrated the story in their carnival booklet. They also completed a word search.

JK/SK love to sing! They are singing about instruments found in the orchestra. They were surprised to learn that the piano was a chord instrument. So, they were able to look inside the piano in our room and watch the keys activate the levers and little hammers on the metal strings.
