NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

There is so much happening in the next two weeks and yet,so much to do.

Grade 5/6 are working on the concept of 'le partitif'. It requires the students to reflect on the gender of nouns and realize that some of this and some of that does not translate with one word. They also looked up a simple recipe for a vinaigrette and discussed the order of serving a French meal. You could hear their stomach growling and it was only 9:30.

Grade 3/4 now have a firm grasp on action verbs: mainly what animals do that human can imitate. They also had an introduction to conjugate verbs with er endings as well as starting the imperative for those verbs. They were very curious about other verb groups but, all in good time!

Grade 7/8 students took up a review activity with the partitif used in the negative work. It took some time, however, they are clearly getting the hang of it. Well done!

Grade 1/2 watched a few pictures and a short video of skiing at Le Massif in Québec. They continued the activity by collecting the vocabulary and rehearsing simple sentences such as 'puis-je acheter  un billet? and combien pour la journée?

JK/SK started with telling the teacher everything they should wear because it is so cold. So, they collectively decided that they would play indoors today and wanted to know the name of several toys.
