NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Grade 9 French students handled a story about Scrooge, where they had to add passé composé verbs as they heard it read to them. This is a good way to do a bit of review, and have fun as well.

Grade 8 French- students used the period to work on their rough copy for presentation of an animal. Here is the checklist: use the pronoun 'on', use the superlative and comparative with irregular adjectives, use as many adjectives as you can in your description, minimum 10 sentences.
PRESENTATIONS ARE ON THURSDAY

Grade 4-5 students presented today. They reflected back on their efforts, and here are a few comments: work on pronunciation and intonation, work neatly on appropriate paper (not torn off your notebook), and submit work on time (in case of doubt, read the blog, ask a classmate), illustrations (when required) should be in colour. All things to work on in the New Year.
HOMEWORK: cross word puzzle p.44 A & B.

Grade 6 students Today, students listened, as well as read, a text about Dr. Fleming's discovery of penicillin. They were able to answer 10 questions related to the text. (Bravo Daniel for working independently, and using the context to find the answers).

Grade 1 Students spent time guessing holiday themed vocabulary, and singing the 12 days of Christmas in French. TRY TO SING 'et une perdrix dans un poirier nain!'

JK/SK students are learning to say JOYEUX NOEL, BONNE ANNÉE, and they coloured  'un bas de Noël'. SK were asked to write their words too.

Grade 2-3 students listened and illustrated a story about the 5 Maples Christmas Holiday Characters. While listening, they drew, and had to re-tell the story with as many details as possible. They had fun adding details in each group. Then they counted their accumulated points.
